In the heart of the middle-belt you find Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti region where you find graces of the glorious past when visiting Menhya Palace Museum and the cultural centre. This part of the country is also called the bread-basket of the country as the majority of food crops are harvested here. Furthermore, you find a handful of lushly vegetated tropical forest reserves and botanical arboretums, wild life sanctuaries and great birding spots.
